Recovery Training Program

Camp Fire Hazardous Tree Removal
Before and after disaster strikes, California’s recovery preparedness starts here. The CSTI Recovery Training Unit readies state, local, and tribal partners for what comes next—helping communities recover stronger while building resilience before the next disaster.

The Recovery Training Program provides training and exercise support across the full recovery spectrum, including Individual Assistance, Public Assistance, Hazard Mitigation, long-term recovery, interagency coordination, and Recovery Support Functions. Our independent study courses and instructor-led trainings offer practical knowledge, clear guidance, and tools that help jurisdictions navigate federal and state recovery programs with confidence.

As California’s needs evolve, we are creating new courses and curriculum to speed recovery, strengthen partnerships, and support communities in rebuilding safely and sustainably.
