Americans with Disabilies Act (ADA) Compliance

The Cal OES EEO office ensures that our agency is following ADA rules. We check and enforce these rules; making sure all state and federal laws are being followed.

Cal OES does not discriminate in employment or in the delivery of services. Cal OES will make reasonable changes to its policies and programs as needed, to avoid discrimination. We want everyone to have equal access to our programs, services and activities.

ADA Complaints

Following Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, submit complaints against Cal OES or its employees, alleging disability discrimination, within 60 days to:

Include details about the alleged discrimination, the complainant’s name, address and phone number, and the location, and date of occurrence.

The ADA Coordinator or designee will respond within 15 days of receiving the complaint, and will follow up in writing, 15 days thereafter, to provide options for resolution. When appropriate, a format accessible to the complainant, such as large print, Braille, or audio recording, will be available.

The United States Department of Justice handles all ADA complaints not involving Cal OES or its employees.
