The Highway Safety, Traffic Reduction, Air Quality and Port Security Bond Act of 2006, approved by the voters as Proposition 1B at the November 7, 2006 general election, authorizes the issuance of nineteen billion nine hundred twenty five million dollars ($19,925,000,000) in general obligation bonds for specified purposes, including grants for transit system safety, security, and disaster response projects.  Proposition 1B is divided into the following programs:

  • California Transit Assistance Fund (CTAF)

  • Intercity Passenger Rail/Commuter Rail Systems (IPCR)

  • Regional Public Waterborne Transit (RPWT)
